The .224 valkyrie is the first ar-15 sized cartridge that retains supersonic velocity beyond 1,300 yards, while kicking out far less recoil than other (usually .308 winchester-based) long-range ar cartridges. This msr 15 recon lrp has a 5r rifled, 18" barrel to generate extra velocity from the .224 valkyrie bullet before it leaves the muzzle, while still being compact enough for easy transport and carry in the field.
